Alexandra Machinist
Linda Chester and Associates Literary Agency

Alexandra Machinist, a native New Yorker, has a B.A. in English from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Her passion for the written word was cultivated during college while working at Janklow & Nesbit Associates. Following law school, she spent a couple of (miserable) years as a corporate attorney. A member of the New York Bar, Alexandra is fluent in French and conversant in Spanish and German. When her nose momentarily emerges from a book, she can usually be found hunting down the best noodle bar in New York or skiing fresh powder. She is actively looking for new authors in any of the following areas: up-market commercial women’s fiction, historical fiction, contemporary romance (but not traditional chick-lit!), historical romance, paranormal (though non-vampire is preferred) and romantic suspense. She is always captivated by a wonderful narrative voice and would love a great new story with a wonderful hook to keep her up reading all night.
